Today we have a photo essay from the Response to Love Center,in Buffalo, NY, under the leadership of Sr. Mary Johnice Rzadkiewicz (CSSF). The Felician Sisters of North America recently received a Victory Noll Sisters small grant award (run by Catholic Climate Covenant) to organize care for creation activities at the nonprofit to encourage and promote a moral and spiritual challenge, as we renew our relationship with God and one another.
In the process, they seek to help the community reflect on the Catholic Social teachings about ecology and faith; connect with a family who farms and teach farming as a vocation to care for creation; and give the opportunity to the farmers to share homegrown vegetables with clients in dining site and food pantry. Enjoy these scenes of celebrating joy and sustenance in creation!
The next photos are at the farm that helps supply the nonprofit with fresh fruits and vegetables when in season. The Dluhy Farm is about 30 minutes East of Buffalo and has supported the Response to Love Center for years!
The last photos are at the latest Health Care Fair held this summer, with healthy cooking instructors preparing fresh yogurt and berry parfaits for visitors.
The gentleman behind the table of produce is Mr. Mohamadian Adam. Mr. Adam was an English as a Second Language student at the Response to Love Center. He is an asylum seeker that was violently run off his family farm in Sudan. He can always be seen smiling and working to help advance the mission at Response to Love.
The parfait enjoyed by visitors at the Health Care Fair!
